Davido Claims Nigerians as the Best Doctors in the US, Celebrates African Contributions
Afrobeats superstar Davido has made a bold statement, claiming that the best doctors in the United States (US) are of Nigerian descent.
Speaking during an appearance on the Afric TV program, the singer highlighted the significant impact Africans have made across various sectors, both professional and creative.
The “Timeless” hitmaker stressed that Africans, particularly Nigerians, are among the brightest minds in the global music industry. He pointed out that Western filmmakers are increasingly turning to the African continent for fresh, innovative ideas.
“The best doctors in America are Nigerians. You can search it,” Davido declared. “Even in my record label [Sony Music], Africans bring the best ideas. That shows that our imagination is off the grid.”
The artist also noted the growing influence of African cinema, revealing that streaming giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime are sourcing movie ideas from the continent. “Netflix and Amazon Prime come to Africa to get movie ideas. Now, when you come on Netflix, you will see about two Nigerian movies in the top 10,” he added. “Africa is next, trust me. I feel like we have everything but just missing a couple of things.”
While Nigerians have earned a stellar reputation as accomplished doctors in the United States, there is no conclusive data to confirm that they are specifically the best in the country.
Nonetheless, Davido’s comments underscore the growing recognition of African talent and influence across various global industries, particularly in music and film.
