Nigerian music star Davido has once again become a topic of heated online debate after a social media user took a jab at his privileged background.
The controversy erupted on X (formerly Twitter) when a troll made a sarcastic remark about Davido’s family, suggesting that their children live in affluent locations such as America, Atlanta, and Banana Island in Lagos.
The tweet read: “There is no election on Saturday in Osun State. Don’t let people whose children are all in America, Atlanta, and Banana Island in Lagos push you. Anyways, I want to specially welcome our new security men that just arrived in the state. Oju yin ma booooo.”

Unwilling to let the comment slide, Davido fired back, defending his family’s success and his father’s legacy. He responded: “Ur papa fuckup and taking it out on me cus my father worked hard … its crazy.”

This latest social media scuffle comes shortly after Davido publicly apologized to the Commissioner of Police in Osun State.
The singer had previously accused the authorities of negligence in handling security threats in the state.
