Award-winning artist Davido made a show-stopping appearance at Lagos Fashion Week 2024, walking the runway for the esteemed Nigerian fashion brand Ugo Monye.
In an unexpected collaboration, Davido wore a striking outfit from Ugo Monye’s latest collection, impressing the crowd with his confident stride and charisma.
His appearance not only showcased his creative versatility but also provided a notable boost to Ugo Monye’s visibility in the fashion industry.

The Lagos Fashion Week runway marked Davido’s debut for Ugo Monye, where he wore a sophisticated all-brown ensemble. This was his second time on the runway; previously, in 2022, he modelled a custom tracksuit for PUMA at New York Fashion Week.

Speaking at the Elevate Africa leadership event, he recounted his experience booking Madison Square Garden in the USA. Initially, the venue’s management hesitated due to concerns about hosting a large African audience.
“Years later, I received praise for filling the venue, helping shift perceptions about African events,” Davido shared, underscoring the impact of the event on changing global views.
Davido also expressed his desire for Nigeria to build modern arenas, noting his exhaustion with constantly relying on the Eko Hotel for major local events. “Nigerian states need proper arenas to showcase our talent and culture, reducing the dependency on Western approval,” he emphasized.
