Davido slams Instagram blog over false kidnapping allegation.

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, has expressed outrage over a misleading report that falsely linked him to a kidnapping case in Lagos.
The controversy began when a well-known Instagram blog shared a viral video featuring three men who had been caught by residents of a Lagos estate.
In the footage, one of the suspects identified himself as “Ifeanyi from Anambra State,” while another, believed to be the leader, claimed, “Davido is my nickname. I came to kidnap.”
The third suspect revealed he was from Kwara, while the other stated he hailed from Imo State.
Despite the clear distinction between the suspect’s nickname and the singer’s identity, the blog captioned the video in a misleading manner: “Davido and two others apprehended for kidnapping in Lagos.”
This caused confusion among fans and social media users, with many expressing shock before realizing the report was false.
Reacting swiftly to the damaging claim, Davido took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a warning to the blog, writing, “One day go be one day… continue… my karma no dey always tey.”
His response sparked widespread discussion about the dangers of misinformation and the need for accountability in digital media.
Amid backlash from fans and concerned social media users, the Instagram blog quickly deleted the post. However, the controversy has reignited debates about reckless journalism on social media and its potential impact on public figures.
This incident serves as yet another reminder of the rapid spread of unverified news online and the need for stricter measures to curb misinformation.
