The ten-track project, revealed on Monday, has already stirred major excitement across social media, as fans prepare for what promises to be another masterful blend of sharp lyricism, introspection, and sonic experimentation, qualities that have defined Dave’s artistry from the start.

Accompanying the announcement was the album’s black-and-white cover art, which shows the rapper seated beside a grand harp, a fitting visual metaphor for the reflective and artful tone the project appears to embody.

The tracklist features standout collaborations with an impressive lineup of artists, including James Blake, Kano, Tems, and Jim Legxacy, alongside seven solo cuts that showcase Dave’s storytelling depth and emotional range.

James Blake, a longtime collaborator, appears on two tracks, “History” and “Selfish,” while Nigerian star Tems lends her soulful vocals to “Raindance.” UK rap icon Kano features on “Chapter 16,” and fast-rising artist Jim Legxacy joins on “No Weapons.”

Other solo songs, such as “My 27th Birthday,” “175 Months,” and the title track “The Boy Who Played the Harp,” promise to deliver the introspection and poetic edge that fans have come to expect from the rapper.

Dave’s previous full-length projects, Psychodrama (2019), which won the Mercury Prize, and We’re All Alone in This Together (2021), which earned him a BRIT Award, solidified his reputation as one of the UK’s most profound musical voices.

After the runaway success of “Sprinter,” his 2023 hit collaboration with Central Cee, expectations are sky-high for The Boy Who Played the Harp.

With its mix of heavyweight collaborations and intimate solo reflections, the album looks set to mark another milestone in Dave’s already stellar career.
