Kevin De Bruyne believes Man City’s full schedule has made the Premier League title race with Arsenal EASIER.
In Kevin De Bruyne’s opinion, Manchester City’s hectic calendar will make it simpler for his team to win the Premier League title than a schedule with fewer games.
City’s chances of regaining the Premier League title were greatly enhanced after they defeated league-leading Arsenal 4-1 on Wednesday. De Bruyne scored twice in the match.
With two games remaining, the victory moves City two points closer to the Gunners. They have a strong potential to fully control the domestic championship battle because of the intensity of their schedule, according to De Bruyne, who also feels they have a strong chance to win the FA Cup and the Champions League.
“In one way it’s easy for us with the schedule we have. It’s impossible to know what will happen in a couple of weeks,” De Bruyne said to BBC Sport after their midweek win. “It’s tough enough to be 100 percent in every game – we had [Bayern] Munich away, then London for Sheffield [United in the FA Cup]. The last five or six weeks it’s [a match] every three days. It’s much easier that way than if you just play every weekend.”
City will play Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinals and Manchester United in the FA Cup final in addition to continuing their attempt to pass Arsenal at the top of the standings.
City will play Fulham on Sunday before Arsenal and Chelsea square off in the Premier League on May 2.
