Chelsea owner, Boehly fires Stamford Bridge’s long-serving staff, Thierry Laurent.
Chelsea’s new owners, led by Todd Boehly have sacked their long-serving head physiotherapist, Thierry Laurent.
The physiotherapist joined the club’s senior players in 2005 and was elevated to his current position as a head physio in 2014.
Laurent contributed significantly behind the scenes to the club’s Champions League and Premier League championship victories during his seventeen years of service.
According to The Daily Mail, Laurent was fired during the international break. On Tuesday, he was only informed of his dismissal during a “short zoom call.”

The news comes after Stamford Bridge’s medical director, Dr. Paco Biosca, announced his departure after serving there for 11 years.
According to The Athletic, Laurent was “shocked” to learn of his abrupt termination during the zoom call after learning that the new owners intend to hire someone of their choosing.
Laurent follows in the footsteps of recent departures like those of Thomas Tuchel, a former manager, Marina Granovskaia, Bruce Buck, and Petr Cech.
Laurent’s exit will be just as keenly felt by the players, particularly those who have been at the club for some time.
