Carlo Ancelotti insists Vinicius Junior won’t leave Real Madrid after latest racism scandal.
Despite witnessing Vinicius Junior caught up in yet another wave of racial abuse, Carlo Ancelotti is sure that the Brazilian will not be leaving Real Madrid.
During a La Liga match against Valencia on Sunday at Mestalla, the Blancos player heard further racist comments from the crowd.
Before turning to social media in a series of tweets that have questioned the lack of serious action being taken by authorities in Spain, Vinicius challenged some of those responsible.
With instances of racism becoming all too common, there have been rumours that the promising 22-year-old might start to doubt his future at Santiago Bernabeu. However, Madrid manager Ancelotti anticipates the South American to remain.
Ancelotti has said when asked about Vinicius’ state of mind and his ongoing commitment to the Real cause: “He knows very well that his future has to be here and the fact of leaving is not in his head. He feels that he wants to work for Real Madrid because he is in love with the club.”
The Italian tactician added, with Vinicius having skipped Madrid’s latest training session on the back of collecting a late red card against Valencia: “He hasn’t lost any enthusiasm. He has a blow and that’s why he didn’t train but he leads a normal life. We are waiting to see what sanction they give him.”
Vinicius has received support from a number of other athletes and well-known people from his native Spain in his battle against racial attackers there.
Real Madrid has spoken out against the “hate crimes” that a significant part of their team has continued to experience, and another complaint has been made to La Liga, according to Ancelotti, who claims he has the complete support of everyone in the Real camp.
“Vinicius is very sad and he knows that he has the support of everyone. He has unconditional support and he is very calm,” Ancelotti added.
Real has three more games remaining to play this season, the first of which will be on Wednesday when they visit Rayo Vallecano.
