Real Madrid get huge injury boost! Thibaut Courtois & Eder Militao return dates revealed by Carlo Ancelotti after double ACL injury lay-off
Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on the return timeline for Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao, who have been sidelined due to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries sustained earlier in the season.
Both Courtois and Militao have been undergoing a personalized training regimen during their six-month layoff period. Ancelotti indicated that the duo could be nearing their return to action, with an estimated timeline of approximately six weeks.
Speaking to reporters, Ancelotti informed: “The date is not defined. But we have to take advantage of the national team break and then the mini-break of the Copa del Rey. At that time they will do tasks with the team. After April 14th, after Mallorca, they could be there.”
The timing of Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao’s potential returns aligns perfectly with crucial fixtures on Real Madrid’s calendar, notably the highly anticipated El Clasico showdown against Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 21. Additionally, should Real Madrid progress in the Champions League, both players could play significant roles in the pivotal second leg of the quarter-final tie scheduled for April 16/17.
Ahead of their clash with Valencia on Saturday, Real Madrid have received a significant boost with the return to contention of Dani Carvajal, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jude Bellingham.
With Los Blancos currently enjoying a six-point lead at the top of the La Liga table, another victory at Mestalla would further strengthen their position. Moreover, it would place pressure on Barcelona and Girona, who are set to compete a day later on Sunday against Athletic Club and Mallorca, respectively, to secure wins to keep pace with Real Madrid.
