You’ll go back to detention if you misbehave again – Burna Boy tells Speed Darlington

Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has addressed the recent release of fellow singer Speed Darlington from Kuje Prison.
Speed Darlington, who was detained after making allegations against Burna Boy regarding an inappropriate relationship with American rapper and music executive Diddy, was released on the 21st of January 2025, weeks after being granted bail.
Responding to Darlington’s release, Burna Boy issued a stern warning via Instagram, cautioning him against further misconduct.
“If you like misbehave again, you’ll go back to where you come from! And this time around, there will be no mercy! Don’t m*ss with ODG,” Burna Boy wrote.
The warning has sparked reactions on social media, with fans debating the heated exchange between the two artists. Darlington, known for his outspoken and controversial persona, has yet to respond to Burna Boy’s remarks

Recall, Speed Darlington has initiated a legal battle against the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, demanding N300 million in damages for what he described as an unlawful and prolonged detention.
The suit comes in the aftermath of Darlington’s arrest late last year over remarks he made about Afrobeat superstar Burna Boy. The police had accused the rapper of defamation and cyberstalking in connection with his statements.
