Global Afrofusion powerhouse Burna Boy is once again proving why he’s at the top of Africa’s music game. In a fresh triumph for African music, his chart-topping collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper Dave has officially been certified 5x Platinum in the UK, solidifying its place as one of the most successful songs by an African artist on British soil.

Originally released as part of Dave’s critically acclaimed 2019 album Psychodrama, the fiery anthem has become a cultural staple — and yet another career-defining moment for Burna Boy, who continues to blur borders with every release.

    And that’s not all.

Just weeks earlier, Burna’s emotionally rich ballad ‘Alone’—from Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack—was declared eligible for RIAA Gold certification in the United States after surpassing 500,000 units sold.

The track, nominated for Best Global Music Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards, has racked up over 164 million streams on Spotify, trailing only Rihanna’s Lift Me Up as the second most streamed track from the soundtrack album.

With six RIAA plaques (including four solo certifications) now to his name, Burna Boy continues to blaze trails and set records, cementing his legacy as a titan of African music on the global stage.

As the 10-time Grammy nominee prepares to release his eighth studio album, titled No Sign of Weakness, in 2025, expectations are sky-high. The album’s rollout began with the electrifying single ‘Tatata’, featuring U.S. rap icon Travis Scott, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

With this next chapter, Burna Boy aims to extend his unprecedented streak—four consecutive Grammy-nominated albums—and build on his status as the only Nigerian artist with three albums surpassing 500 million Spotify streams.

From Lagos to London, from the Grammys to the charts, Burna Boy isn’t just making history—he’s rewriting it.
