Nigerian stars Boy Spyce and Jeriq unite for a vibrant new single, “Achalugo“, released under Mavin Records.

Boy Spyce, celebrated for his soulful take on Afrobeats, joins forces with Jeriq—the street-hardened lyricist and head of Iyoo Cartel—to deliver a track that’s already catching fire among fans.
Produced by Madd Thing, Achalugo marks Boy Spyce’s second drop of 2025, following I’ll Be There, and spotlights his artistic growth while giving wider exposure to Jeriq’s rugged, culturally rich rap style.
Named after a popular Igbo expression that praises a woman’s stunning beauty, Achalugo merges lush Afrobeats with spirited highlife vibes, paying homage to Igbo traditions.

The song kicks off with an energetic, dance-ready hook: “Achalu Achalu, Go go, Go go, Koko below low, Baby dance iyo,” instantly setting a lively, feel-good atmosphere. Boy Spyce’s silky vocals float effortlessly as he croons lines like, “Look into my eyes, Tell me what you see, Shey na paradise, Do you see the 7 seas?”—a romantic ode shimmering with wonder.
Jeriq jumps in with a gritty, bilingual verse, rapping, “Asanwa okacha na abia na mma (Achalugo), Ada Ada maka gi the boy Ada go ada (Achalugo),” blending English and Igbo to celebrate natural beauty and heartfelt loyalty. The textured production—rich with rhythmic drums and smooth highlife melodies—gives the track a warm, timeless feel.
Boy Spyce, whose real name is Ugbekile David Osemeke, hails from Benin City and sharpened his craft through online song covers before catching Mavin’s attention. Jeriq, meanwhile, continues to carry the voice of the streets with his raw lyrical style, coming off the momentum of collaborations like My Bro with Phyno in 2023.
With Achalugo poised to light up playlists and inspire a wave of TikTok dance trends, this collaboration not only highlights the range and versatility of both artists but also fuses the polished world of Mavin’s Afrobeats with the grounded energy of indigenous rap—marking an exciting new chapter in their fast-rising careers.
