Nigerian singer BNXN has weighed in on the growing use of artificial intelligence within the music industry, particularly the rise of AI-generated album and song cover art.

The Afrobeats star made his feelings known in a recent post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he criticised what he described as low-quality AI artwork being used for music releases and promotions.

“I can’t stand behind an A.I cover. Especially if it’s terrible work.”

The comment quickly sparked debate online, with fans, designers, and music lovers sharing mixed reactions about the increasing role of AI in creative spaces.

While some users defended the use of artificial intelligence as a tool for experimentation and innovation, many others agreed with BNXN, arguing that several AI-generated designs often lack originality, emotional depth, and the human creativity that traditional artwork brings.

In recent months, AI-created visuals have become more common across album covers, promotional campaigns, lyric videos, and digital branding within the entertainment industry. The trend has also raised wider concerns among creatives who fear that artificial intelligence could reduce opportunities for graphic designers, illustrators, and digital artists.

BNXN’s remarks now add to the ongoing global conversation about how AI should be integrated into art and entertainment, especially in industries where authenticity and personal expression remain highly valued.

The singer’s reaction also reflects a growing sentiment among many artists who believe technology can be useful but should not replace genuine creativity or thoughtful artistic direction.
