Nigerian rapper BlaqBonez has opened up about the inspiration behind his current musical direction, revealing that Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy has influenced the energy he is bringing into his music this year.

In a recent interview, the Chocolate City rapper spoke about his desire to collaborate with Burna Boy, recalling an encounter with the Afrobeats star at a nightclub last year.
During their conversation, BlaqBonez said he asked about the possibility of working on a joint project, but Burna Boy challenged him to take things more seriously.
“I would love to do a collab with Burna Boy. When I met Burna Boy in the club last year, I asked him, ‘Haffa, when are we doing our joint project?’ and he replied, ‘Na you no serious na.’ The energy I’m on this year is inspired by Burna Boy,” BlaqBonez said.
The revelation offers a glimpse into the mindset behind his latest album, NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, as he explores a new phase of his artistry. Released on October 16, 2026, through Chocolate City Music, the 15-track project marks his fifth studio album.
The album follows No Excuses, which arrived in 2025, along with its deluxe edition released in April 2026. As BlaqBonez continues to push his latest body of work, his comments have also raised the possibility of a future collaboration with Burna Boy.
