Ayra Starr becomes 1st Nigerian female artist to bag RIAA Latin Diamond certification with Santa

Nigerian music sensation Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, widely known as Ayra Starr, has made history as the first Nigerian female artist to receive a Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Diamond certification.
Her 2024 hit single ‘Santa’ earned the prestigious milestone after surpassing 10 million units sold in the United States, a requirement for artists outside the Americas to achieve Diamond status within the Latino market.
The song, performed in a mix of Spanish and English, showcases influences of Afrobeats and Reggaeton, making it a crossover success.
‘Santa‘ features Puerto Rican star Rauw Alejandro and Jamaican artist Rvssian (Tarik Johnston), whose contributions helped elevate the track’s global appeal.
