Asake reacts after receiving 8 nominations at the 2023 Headies Award.
Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has broken his silence after receiving 8 nominations in the recently released list of nominees for the 2023 Headies Award.
On July 13th, 2023, the prestigious Afrobeats award, the Headies, announced the artists included in the upcoming 16th edition of the Headies Awards. Asake, the breakout artist of 2022, who is set to perform at the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London, secured an impressive 8 nominations.
Asake, a signee of YBNL, is nominated in the Next Rated category alongside Young John, Seyi Vibez, Victony, and Spyro. He is also nominated for Best Male Artiste, competing against Rema, Kizz Daniel, Ruger, Omah Lay, and Burna Boy.
Asake’s hit song, “Sungba Remix” featuring Burna Boy, earned him a nomination in the Song of the Year category alongside other top tracks. In the Album of the Year category, his album “Mr Money With The Vibe” is nominated alongside works by Burna Boy, Rema, Omah Lay, Victony, and Davido.
Asake’s collaboration with various artists led to his nomination in the Best Collaboration category, where he competes with other notable collaborations. He is also nominated for Best Street Hop Artiste, Headies Viewer Choice, Digital Artiste of the Year, showcasing the breadth of his talent and impact in the music industry.
