Arsenal continued their flawless Champions League run on Wednesday night, delivering a dominant 3–1 win over Bayern Munich at a buzzing Emirates Stadium, a result that fired them to the top of the league-phase standings.

Still riding the high from their emphatic victory over Tottenham in the north London derby just days earlier, Mikel Arteta’s men showed no signs of slowing down. Instead, they put on another commanding performance that reinforced why many now see them as genuine European heavyweights.

Arsenal drew first blood when Jurrien Timber rose tallest to nod in a Bukayo Saka corner, sending the home fans into an early frenzy. Bayern responded through 17-year-old Lennart Karl, whose well-taken goal silenced the stadium briefly and ensured the first half ended level.

But after the break, it was all Arsenal.

Relentless pressure from a string of set-piece opportunities finally paid off, courtesy of the substitutes’ bench. Riccardo Calafiori delivered a wicked cross into the box, and Noni Madueke, making the most of his early introductio,n fired home his first goal for the club.

While former Tottenham star Harry Kane struggled badly on the ground, where he has historically haunted Arsenal, failing to register a single shot, the Gunners turned the screw even further.

Their third goal was vintage Arsenal: a blistering counterattack. Eberechi Eze, fresh off his derby hat-trick heroics, released Gabriel Martinelli, who raced past Manuel Neuer, knocked the ball beyond the veteran keeper, and tapped into an empty net a perfect way to mark his return after a month on the sidelines.

By full-time, Arsenal looked every bit worthy of their two-goal cushion. Although Karl’s earlier strike denied them another Champions League clean sheet, the Gunners’ fifth straight win now puts them three points clear of Paris Saint-Germain.

Next up is a tricky Premier League clash away at Chelsea on Sunday, where Arsenal will try to stretch their six-point lead at the top of the table as their hunt for trophies continues on all fronts.

The only sour note from the night was the early injury to Leandro Trossard, who was forced off for Madueke. Still, fans were given something to smile about with the late return of captain Martin Ødegaard, back in action after recovering from a knee problem.

Arsenal’s momentum doesn’t appear to be slowing — and Europe is watching.

    Only one perfect record remains…
