Court issues arrest warrant for Mercy Chinwo’s manager over alleged $345,000 fraud

A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an arrest warrant for Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the manager of renowned Nigerian gospel artist Mercy Chinwo, over allegations of financial impropriety.
The arrest order follows an ex parte motion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which accused Onyedikachukwu of misappropriating $345,000 in royalties owed to Mercy Chinwo.
According to the EFCC, Onyedikachukwu allegedly collected earnings from Mercy Chinwo’s digital platforms and event royalties without proper disclosure and withheld her rightful share. Investigator Michael Idoko revealed that Mercy Chinwo had filed a formal petition against her manager, accusing him of financial misconduct.
The court approved the EFCC’s request and scheduled the matter for January 24, 2025, when Onyedikachukwu is expected to be arraigned. Should he evade arrest, the EFCC plans to issue a public notice declaring him wanted.
This legal action follows recent news of Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, gaining public admiration for their philanthropic efforts in Rumudara village, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
