Adekunle Gold Steps Behind the Camera to Co-Produce Yoruba Music Documentary “The Odyssey”

Music sensation AG Baby is venturing into new creative territory by taking on the role of co-producer for ‘The Odyssey,’ an upcoming documentary that explores the rich history of Yoruba music and its evolution into modern Afrobeats over the past century.
“We are excited to announce Adekunle Gold as the co-producer of our documentary, The Odyssey,” the production team shared, signalling an exciting collaboration between the music star and the filmmakers.
This documentary promises to be a treasure trove for music enthusiasts curious about the artists and sounds that defined generations past. It dives into the musical landscape that influenced the modern Afrobeats scene, shedding light on the cultural and historical significance of Yoruba music.

Directed by Abba T. Makama, with Bobo Omotayo as executive producer, the documentary is also produced by Papa Omotayo and Tosin Ashafa. Currently in production, ‘The Odyssey’ is set to be a comprehensive celebration of 100 years of Yoruba music, its global reach, and its lasting impact on the contemporary soundscape of Afrobeats.
