Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake has reached a new career high after his latest album “M$NEY” climbed to the top of the UK Apple Music chart, setting a fresh record in the process.

With the achievement, the singer now boasts five different projects that have hit No. 1 on the platform in the United Kingdom, a feat that also makes him the first African artist to reach that milestone.
Released on May 1, 2026, M$NEY arrives as a 13-track project packed with international collaborations. The album features appearances from Tiakola, DJ Snake, and South African music heavyweight Kabza De Small.
Sonically, the project continues Asake’s signature fusion of sounds, blending street-hop energy with broader global influences. Across the album, he reflects on his journey, expressing gratitude, acknowledging his flaws, and confidently embracing the rewards of his success.
In the build-up to the release, the hitmaker made headlines for splashing billions of naira on luxury cars for himself and his parent, a move that mirrors the themes of wealth and elevation echoed throughout the album.
A significant part of the album’s sound comes from his longtime collaborator Magicsticks, who once again takes the lead on production. The producer has been a key figure in shaping Asake’s catalogue, having worked on earlier projects like Mr Money With The Vibe and Work of Art.
The new milestone adds to what has already been a busy year for the singer. Earlier in 2026, he also secured a UK Apple Music chart-topper with his joint EP REAL VOL 1 alongside Wizkid.
Beyond chart success, M$NEY is also making strong waves across streaming platforms, with impressive numbers on both Apple Music and Spotify pushing Asake further up the global digital artist rankings.
Back home in Nigeria, the album is currently dominating streaming charts, reinforcing his grip on the industry. If the current momentum holds, Asake could once again finish the year as the country’s most-streamed artist, a position he has consistently held since breaking into the mainstream.
His dominance isn’t new. In 2025, he was recognised as the most-streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria and has also topped the TurnTable End-of-Year Chart every year since 2022, a streak that underlines his continued influence at the top of Afrobeats.
