Tems and Burna Boy Overtake Seether as Africans With Most Billboard Hot 100 Entries

Nigerian global stars Tems and Burna Boy have etched their names deeper into music history, surpassing South African rock band Seether for the most appearances by African acts on the Billboard Hot 100.
Before this week, the trio were tied at seven entries each. That changed following the release of J. Cole’s new album The Fall-Off, which delivered fresh chart placements for both Nigerian stars.
“Bounce Road Blues,” featuring Tems and Future, stormed in at No. 34, while “Only You” with Burna Boy debuted at No. 78. The new entries push both artists to eight career appearances on the Billboard Hot 100, now the highest tally for any African act.
For Tems, the milestone adds to what has already been a remarkable year. She has now secured three Hot 100 entries in 2026 alone: “Raindance” with Dave, “What You Need,” and the newly charting “Bounce Road Blues.” No other African artist has recorded more entries on the chart this year.
Burna Boy, on the other hand, has extended an extraordinary streak. The Grammy winner becomes the first African artist to place a song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years.
His run began with Loved By You (2021), followed by Last Last (2022), Sittin’ On Top Of The World and Talibans II (2023), Just Like Me and We Pray (2024), WGFT (2025), and now Only You (2026).
With Afrobeats continuing its global surge, both Tems and Burna Boy are not just riding the wave they are actively shaping it, pushing African music further into mainstream international charts year after year.
