Trinidadian fusion band Orange Sky returns with a meaningful new single titled “Too Many,” a song that blends afrobeats, reggae, and Caribbean vibes into one thoughtful piece of music.
Orange Sky, the legendary rock-reggae band from Trinidad & Tobago has blessed our playlist with a new single. “Too Many” is not just a song you listen to, it is a song that asks you to think, feel, and care.

At its heart, “Too Many” talks about the many problems facing the world today, such as violence, loss of empathy, and the way technology sometimes pulls people apart instead of bringing them together.
Yet, the song does not feel dark or hopeless. Instead, it gently reminds listeners that love, unity, and compassion still matter and still have power.
Simple Lyrics with Deep Meaning
One of the strongest things about Too Many is its lyrics. They are easy to understand, but they carry big ideas. A soft and beautiful image opens the song
“A butterfly came through and landed upon my window, for me to kiss upon beauty…”
This line uses the butterfly as a symbol of gentleness and vulnerability. In a world full of conflict, the butterfly represents how delicate life is and how important it is to protect beauty and peace.
Another key line says: “No matter who you are, you are a shining star”
This message is clear and encouraging. It tells everyone, young or old, that they matter. No one is too small or unimportant to make a difference.
The chorus repeats a powerful truth: “Too many, too many, too many problems in this world, too many reasons to love each other.”
This line shows the balance of the song. Yes, there are many problems, but there are also many reasons to choose love instead of hate.
Orange Sky draws inspiration from reggae and fusion legends like Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Steel Pulse, 311, and Sublime. These influences are clear in the relaxed rhythm, soulful melodies, and conscious message of Too Many.
The song combines reggae warmth, afrobeats energy, and Caribbean rhythm, creating a sound that feels both familiar and fresh. It is calm enough to relax to, but strong enough to leave an impression.
Another meaningful lyric says: “Ordinary people doing extraordinary things”
This line reminds listeners that change does not only come from leaders or celebrities. Everyday people can create kindness, stand up for others, and make the world better in small but important ways.
The natural imagery continues with: “The yellow moon is waxing”
This suggests growth and change. Just like the moon, the world can move through dark phases and still grow brighter again.
Orange Sky’s Long Journey and Honest Sound
Orange Sky was formed in 1996 by brothers Nigel and Nicholas Rojas in Belmont, Port of Spain.
The band’s name comes from the idea of an infinite orange sky, symbolising freedom and possibility. Their sound mixes hard rock energy, reggae soul, calypso rhythm, and gritty Trinidadian vocals.
Frontman Nigel Rojas explains that ‘Too Many’ was inspired by seeing a butterfly and thinking about how fragile beauty is in a violent world. He describes the song as different, but still fully true to who he is.
Over nearly 30 years, Orange Sky has released many songs and albums, toured globally, and shared stages with major artists. ‘Too Many,’ alongside Family Love, previews their upcoming 30th-anniversary EP set for 2026.
‘Too Many‘ is important because it speaks to the present moment. It recognises the struggles people face today but refuses to give up on hope. The song teaches that love is still a choice, and unity is still possible.
