Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has voiced deep concern over the increasing tribal and religious tensions tearing at the fabric of the nation.
The socially conscious entertainer made his remarks while reacting to a post by comedian Nasboi, who had urged Nigerians to unite beyond ethnicity and religion and focus instead on holding their leaders accountable.
In his response, Falz lamented how politicians and influential figures continue to exploit these sentiments to sow discord among citizens, calling it one of the country’s most depressing realities.
“I cannot begin to explain how depressing it has been in recent years, seeing tribal and religious sentiments still being used to turn us against each other. At some point we need to start thinking for ourselves,” he wrote.
His statement comes amid renewed online debates between Christian and Muslim youths after reports surfaced that former U.S. President Donald Trump had allegedly threatened military action against Nigeria over alleged attacks on Christians by Islamic extremists.

Falz, who is known for his activism and thought-provoking lyrics, reiterated that Nigerians must rise above manipulative narratives and learn to think critically for themselves. For him, unity and awareness remain the only real path toward national progress.
