Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has spoken publicly about her much-talked-about fallout with superstar Davido, describing it as a “misunderstanding” and expressing her wish to mend fences.
Speaking on The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Savage explained that while the dispute strained their friendship, her affection for Davido remains unchanged.

Their clash, which grabbed headlines in January 2024, reportedly began after Savage posted a photo with Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first daughter’s mother, on her Instagram story.
The post was said to have angered Davido, who allegedly sent her threatening messages. Worried about her safety, the singer filed a police report at the time.
Savage clarified in the interview that her friendship with Sophia Momodu grew naturally because their children attend the same school. “I think it was a miscommunication,” she said, noting she never imagined the photo would cause tension.
According to her, filing the police report was a protective step rather than an act of hostility. She also revealed that before turning to the authorities, she had tried to resolve the issue quietly by contacting senior members of Davido’s family.
Despite the incident, Savage used the interview to send a heartfelt message directly to Davido: “I haven’t spoken to you, David, but I want you to know that I do love you, and I would never betray you or take sides.”
Her comments suggest that while the past year has been turbulent, she is prioritizing peace, friendship, and the bonds both stars share within the music industry and through their children.
