Nigerian singer-songwriter Odeal has declared Wizkid’s 2014 smash hit Ojuelegba the greatest Afrobeats track of all time.

The fast-rising star, best known for his single Odogwu and a feature on Patek, made the statement in a Billboard video released on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
In the segment, Odeal was asked to rank iconic Afrobeats anthems in head-to-head matchups. Classics such as P-Square’s Chop My Money, Davido’s Fall, D’Banj’s Oliver Twist, and CKay’s Love Nwantiti all featured in the mix. But for Odeal, Ojuelegba stood above the rest.
“That is an incredible song. That’s like the Nigerian national anthem, 100 percent. You have to know that song,” he said with emphasis.
First released over a decade ago, Ojuelegba is regarded as a landmark in Afrobeats’ rise to global prominence. The track not only elevated Wizkid’s career but also drew international spotlight, leading to a remix with Drake and Skepta that pushed Afrobeats further onto the world stage.
By choosing Ojuelegba as number one, Odeal echoed the sentiments of many fans and critics alike — that the song is more than just a chart-topper. It’s a cultural classic that embodies the enduring spirit of Afrobeats across generations.
