Yoane Wissa FINALLY joins Newcastle! Magpies complete £55m deal to sign forward from Brentford after chasing Alexander Isak replacement all summer

Newcastle United have secured the signing of Yoane Wissa from Brentford in a deal worth £55 million ($74m), handing manager Eddie Howe a long-awaited centre-forward following the departure of Alexander Isak.
The 28-year-old striker, who has committed to a four-year contract at St. James’ Park, becomes the Magpies’ newest No. 9 after weeks of negotiations. Wissa’s arrival comes alongside that of club-record signing Nick Woltemade, with both expected to share the burden of replacing Isak, who sealed a £130m switch to Liverpool earlier this summer.
Howe had faced a frustrating transfer window, with failed pursuits of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike, and Benjamin Sesko. The capture of Wissa, however, finally adds proven firepower to Newcastle’s frontline.

Wissa leaves Brentford after three successful seasons in West London, where he registered 49 goals in 149 outings. His time at the club soured during pre-season when he walked out of their training camp and erased all Bees references from his social media accounts. Despite the fallout, the Congolese international hit an impressive 19 Premier League goals last term, reinforcing his pedigree at the top level.
The forward is expected to link up immediately with his new teammates as Newcastle prepare for their Premier League clash with Wolves on September 13. For Brentford, attention will now turn to identifying a capable replacement for their former talisman.
