Portable calls for prayer, support amid UK tour postponement and assault allegations

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has called on his fans for prayers and support following a series of setbacks, including the indefinite postponement of his UK tour and allegations of assaulting government officials.
Portable’s much-anticipated UK tour, which was scheduled for February 7 in London and February 8 in Glasgow, was abruptly put on hold. The announcement followed rumors of a fallout with his longtime mentor, Olamide, adding fuel to the already growing controversy surrounding the singer.
In a separate development, the self-styled “Zazuu” crooner is facing accusations of assaulting government officials in Ogun State.
According to eyewitness reports, Portable allegedly confronted and harassed officials on duty near his Odogwu bar before reportedly attacking them with the support of some street boys.
Following the incident, the singer has reportedly gone into hiding, with speculations that law enforcement officials may apprehend him should he make a public appearance. Addressing the situation via social media, Portable defended his actions, stating that he had to remain in the country to safeguard his family and property. He concluded his message with a heartfelt plea, urging fans to keep him in their prayers as he navigates this challenging period.
Despite his often controversial persona, Portable remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s street-pop scene, and his current situation has sparked mixed reactions among fans and industry watchers alike.
