Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s deal is ‘sealed’! PSG beat Liverpool to Georgia winger after agreeing package in excess of €70m with Napoli
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is set to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after Napoli agreed to a deal worth over €70 million ($72m/£59m), with the final amount potentially rising to €80 million ($82m/£68m) including performance-based bonuses.
Despite strong interest from Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United, PSG has secured Kvaratskhelia’s signature, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
This move follows PSG’s unsuccessful attempt to sign both Kvaratskhelia and his Napoli teammate Victor Osimhen during the 2024 summer transfer window. With that deal falling through, the Parisian club renewed their pursuit of the 23-year-old winger in January.
Kvaratskhelia has already agreed to personal terms and will sign a five-year contract with PSG. Napoli manager Antonio Conte disclosed the player’s intention to leave the club ahead of their Serie A match against Hellas Verona, expressing his disappointment at losing a key player.
“Kvara has asked to be sold. The club informed me, and he confirmed it,” Conte revealed. “I’m deeply disappointed because I’ve worked hard to make him the centerpiece of our project, but it seems I failed to convince him and the club to continue together. Now, I have to take a step back.”
Since joining Napoli, Kvaratskhelia has been instrumental to their success, scoring 30 goals in 107 appearances and playing a pivotal role in their 2022-23 Scudetto triumph. His departure marks the end of a remarkable chapter for both the player and the Italian club.
For PSG, the acquisition of Kvaratskhelia aligns with their strategy of building a young, dynamic squad under Luis Enrique. The club aims to maintain domestic dominance while striving for greater success in the Champions League.
