    Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake recently celebrated the success of his album “Lungu Boy” with a spectacular listening party.

    Recall, Asake’s latest album, “Lungu Boy,” has shattered streaming records on Spotify Nigeria, marking it as one of the most popular releases in the platform’s history.

    Released on August 9, 2024, “Lungu Boy” is Asake’s third album and features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American superstar Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmila.

    On its opening day, “Lungu Boy” tallied a record-breaking 5.86 million streams on Spotify Nigeria, surpassing the previous record of 4.91 million streams held by Davido’s “Timeless.”

    Globally, the album also set a new record for the biggest opening day streams for a Nigerian album on Spotify, amassing 9.2 million streams.
