Carlo Ancelotti clears the air on his appointment with Brazil.
Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has recently addressed the news surrounding his potential move to the Brazilian national team.
In an interview with Rai Radio 1, the Italian discussed the possibility of joining the Brazilian national team at the conclusion of the current season.
Although Ancelotti emphasized his comfort in his role at Real Madrid, he did not outright deny that he had reached an agreement to coach the Brazilian national team, keeping the speculation alive.
“Agreement with Brazil? “They are rumours, links… I feel very good at Real Madrid as things are. We started our season excellently and we hope to continue at the same level,” he added, making it clear that he is very happy with the results so far.”
Recall that the Brazilian FA announced in July 2023, before the commencement of the 2023–24 season, that Ancelotti would return to manage the Brazilian national team.
Fluminense’s head coach, Fernando Diniz, is presently in control, succeeding Brazil’s U-20 manager, Ramon Menezes, who lost two of three friendly matches as temporary coach earlier this year.
Diniz will remain at Fluminense and will only join Brazil for the World Cup qualifiers. Ancelotti is likely to be Brazil’s coach before the Copa America in 2024 and the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The 64-year-old will be in command of the national team for the first time in his coaching career at this point. He takes over for Tite, who resigned from the job following Croatia’s quarterfinal victory at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
