Simi clears air on relationship with Falz

Simi, the popular singer known by her stage name, has cleared the air about her relationship with rapper Falz, stating that they were never romantically involved.

She emphasized that their connection was purely a working relationship, and any rumors of them dating were spread by fans due to their great chemistry.

During an interview on MTV Base Africa’s programme, Official Naija Top 10, Simi explained that any affectionate scenes between her and Falz were part of a strategic approach to give their fans what they wanted. She made it clear that their close bond was based on friendship and collaboration in the music industry, and there was never any romantic involvement between them.

She said; “He [Falz] did a verse on my song, ‘JAMB Question Remix’. And I was like, ‘Ah! Me and this guy, there is a vibe there.’ So, we did ‘Soldier’, and everybody was like, the chemistry is so amazing.

“We never saw that. People bought what we were not selling. And we were like, okay, this is a strategy. So, we did ‘Chemistry’ the album. People gave us the name and the idea. We never actually came and say, oh, we are dating.”
