Carlo Ancelotti names player to win 2023 Ballon d’Or.
Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has named Karim Benzema as the leading candidate to win the Ballon d’Or this season.
The 34-year-old had previously scored three goals in their 4-0 drubbing of Barcelona on Wednesday.
In the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals at At Camp Nou, Los Blancos defeated the Blaugrana to advance to the grand finals.
Addressing the press after the game, the Italian gaffer was asked about the French striker and Ancelotti said, “Benzema is back. He’s back.”
When asked if the Frenchman could win the Ballon d’Or this year, Ancelotti said: “Another Ballon D’Or for Karim? Why not?.”
Benzema, 35, has contributed six assists and 25 goals to Real Madrid’s offence in 31 appearances this season in all competitions.
