Na song I sing I no kill person – Obidiz reacts after Mercy Chinwo slams him with lawsuit.
Secular artist, Obi Lawson, also known as Obidiz, has responded to the threat by Gospel musician, Mercy Chinwo to sue him for defamation and seek N2 billion in damages.
Recall that Mercy Chinwo had written to Obidiz through her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, demanding that he remove his song titled “Mercy Chinwo” from all music digital platforms for derogatorily utilising her name and image in secular music audio and video.
She issued a warning that doing otherwise would result in legal action, including asking the court to impose N2 billion in damages on him.
Obidiz responded on his Twitter page on Saturday, saying that he had simply performed a song and had not actually killed someone.
He clarified that the song was about a woman he met.
He wrote, “Na song I sing I no kill person.
“Mercy Chinwo for church o but for club na Cardi B set’ Talks about a girl I met, na she I sing about but una wan crucify me,” Obidiz said.

Doubling down on his reason for using the gospel artist’ name, he wrote in another tweet;
Most of the girls you see in church this morning you’ll see them in club later in the evening
