Pep Guardiola agrees on a two-year Manchester City contract extension.
Pep Guardiola and Man City have agreed to a new two-year contract that will keep the manager in the team till 2025. Pep Guardiola isn’t going anywhere.
According to David Ornstein, Pol Ballus, and Sam Lee of The Athletic, the Manchester City manager has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2025.
Similar to Guardiola’s existing contract, the rumoured extension is a two-year agreement that is set up as a one-year contract, allowing the club and manager the option to extend for another year.
The present deal, which was due to expire in the summer of 2019, will be followed by an extension.

If Guardiola completes the proposed new contract, he would have led City for almost ten years. Since his appointment in 2016, the former manager of Barcelona and Bayern Munich has had an incredibly successful run with Manchester City.
The 51-year-old has led the club to four Premier League titles and an appearance in the Champions League final in 2021, which it lost to Chelsea.
“Stay in another place for seven years? No, I don’t think so,” Guardiola told reporters earlier in November when asked if he could envision a similar tenure with another team.
“It is difficult to find what I have here as a manager.
“To be a manager for a long time you need to be so supported. The results help a lot, that is undeniable. In this world, they sack you, they fire you, we know that.”
In the Premier League, Manchester City is now placed 2nd, just behind Arsenal. Additionally, they have qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League.
