Loved ones Davido has lost in recent times
David Adedeji Adeleke, better known as Davido, is a household name in Nigerian music and has recently suffered a string of agonies as a result of losing extremely close loved ones.
The African megastar musician, who has achieved widespread international acclaim, is also a well-known humanitarian, and millions of his fans are in grief over the death of his 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who drowned in the family’s swimming pool in Lagos on Monday.
The singer had already lost a few other close friends and colleagues before the tragic occurrence.

Tagbo
One of Davido’s closest friends, Tagbo Umeike, also known as Tagbo, passed away five years ago on October 3, 2017, his birthday.
According to information about his death, Tagbo had a night of binge drinking during which he supposedly drank 40 shots of tequila.
Tagbo’s girlfriend, actress Caroline Danjuma, made a big deal out of his passing and accused Davido and his friends of being to blame.
The Police State Criminal Investigation Department later revealed that Tagbo had been rushed to the hospital unconscious as a result of heavy drinking, by Davido’s order. On arrival at the hospital, a doctor confirmed Tagbo’s death.
DJ Olu
Another one of Davido’s close friends, Olugbenga Abiodun, better known as DJ Olu, passed away suddenly on October 7, 2017.
The Disc Jockey and Chime Amaechi, two crew members of Davido, were discovered dead in a BMW in a garage on Banana Island in Lagos.
According to Ikoyi Police Division reports, they were discovered dead in the automobile, bleeding from their noses and mouths, with chemicals presumed to be narcotics seized from the victims’ corpses.
Olugbenga Abiodun was also the son of Dapo Abiodun, the previous governor of Ogun State.
TJ
In 2020, Davido was thrown into mourning by the death of his personal bodyguard, Ogbeide Tijani Olamilekan aka TJ.
TJ was said to have passed away on the 8th of December due to prolonged sickness. Davido yesterday post an all-black photo on his social media pages.
Davido dropped a note addressing how he feels about the situation. The singer remembered the bodyguard as one who was selfless and always caring.
In his words, TJ was one who was there for him no matter whether he was right or wrong. He also revealed that they have known themselves for eleven years.
Obama DMW
On June 23, 2021, at a hospital in Lekki, Habeeb Uthman, also known as Obama DMW, a business partner of Davido, was reported dead.
He had complained of having trouble breathing, and he had been taken to the hospital where he was later declared dead, it was discovered.
Fortune
Fortunate Ateumunname Peter, sometimes known as Fortune, was Davido’s official photographer who died on September 21, 2021, at the age of 24.
It was reported that Fortune had drowned in a swimming pool during a photo shoot location in Lagos.

Ifeanyi Adeleke
This could be considered Davido’s biggest loss.
Ifeanyi Adeleke is one of Davido’s children and his only son who died at a young age. On October 31, it was discovered that the 3-year-old youngster, who had just celebrated his third birthday on October 20, died after drowning in their family swimming pool at his father’s Banana Island home in Lagos.
It was learned that the musician and his fiancee, Chioma, the deceased’s mother, had left for Ibadan while the boy was still alive and was left with their domestic staff, who had no knowledge of how he got into the pool and drowned. The youngster was taken in an ambulance to a hospital in Lekki but was already dead when he got there.
