They are a source of pride for the country both at home and abroad. Aside from their undeniable musical talents, some of them have also excelled in education.
Some of them have obtained their educational credentials from home or abroad, which is in their best interests.

In this article, Mp3bullet.ng highlights some of these musicians who studied overseas, some of them did not complete their studies:
Davido
David is a US citizen by birth as he was born in Atlanta, Georgia.
He attended to the British International School in Lagos, Nigeria, before returning to the United States to study business administration at Oakwood University in Alabama at the age of 16.
While at Oakwood, Davido purchased musical equipment and began producing beats. He also formed the music group KB International with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo.
Davido dropped out of Oakwood University to focus only on music and travelled to London to perfect his vocals.
Davido suspended his music career after returning to Nigeria in 2011 and agreed to enrol in Babcock University to honour his father.
After his father sponsored the university to build a music department for an initial class of one student, he graduated from Babcock in July 2015 with a degree in music.
Tiwa Savage
Tiwa Savage was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, then relocated to England with her family when she was 11 years old.
She made a name for herself as a backup vocalist in the latter half of the 1990s, and when Mary J. Blige approached her, she decided to leave the accounting profession.
Despite having a business administration degree from Kent University, she continued her music career by receiving a scholarship to Berklee College of Music.
Prior to graduating, she competed in series three of The X Factor (UK) and made it to the final 24.
Savage’s stock rose during the next few years, thanks to further background work and composition credits on a few albums, notably Fantasia’s Grammy-nominated Back to Me.
With “Kele Kele Love,” a self-released single produced by Harmony Samuels, Savage established herself as a solo artist in 2010.
Naira Marley
Naira Marley is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who was born Azeez Adeshina Fashola on May 10, 1991. He is the president of his controversial fan base, the “Marlians.”
Naira Marley was born in the Nigerian town of Agege, in the state of Lagos. He relocated to Peckham, South London, England, when he was 11 years old.
He attended Porlock Hall before going to Walworth School to get his General Certificate of Secondary Education.
Naira Marley graduated with a distinction in business from Peckham Academy, in the London Borough of Southwark. He also studied business law at Crossways College (now Christ the King Sixth Form College).
Falz
Falz was born to renowned lawyers and human rights activists Funmi and Femi Falana in the Mushin local government area of Lagos State.
Falz attended St. Leo’s Catholic Primary School in Ikeja and Olashore International School in Osun State for his primary and secondary schooling.
He attended the University of Reading in the United Kingdom where he holds an LLB honours degree in law.
Teni
Teni was born in Lagos state and is the younger sister of Nigerian singer Niniola. She graduated from Apata Memorial High School and went on to American InterContinental University to study business administration.
Teni released her debut single “Amen” while signed to Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records. She left the record label and signed with Dr. Dolor Entertainment in 2017.
Teni started gaining prominence after releasing the single ” Fargin” in September 2017. She made her breakthrough after releasing the hit singles “Askamaya”, ” Case” and “Uyo Meyo “.

Peruzzi
Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, popularly known as Peruzzi, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who was born on December 5, 1989.
Peruzzi was accepted to study Medicine and Surgery at Odessa National Medical University in Ukraine after completing his secondary school education, but he dropped out to pursue a career in music.
He s currently signed to Davido’s DMW Label under which he has dropped many hit songs and has been featured on countless hits.
