The Nigerian Afro-fusion star, Buju, disclosed that he believes that the music industry has grown too structured for upcoming acts to thrive and therefore record deals aren’t necessary.

Nigerian buzzing singer, songwriter, and performer, Daniel Benson, popularly known as Buju, has explained why he believes upcoming acts don’t need a record deal in the contemporary music world to become successful.

The gifted singer, who just released a project named “Sorry I’m Late,” earlier said that he had no beef with Burna Boy but chose to depart Spaceship Records, which is owned by the Grammy-winning artist because he (Buju) wanted to manage his music career entirely on his own.

Buju stated in an interview with COOL FM’s ace on-air personality and hypeman D02dtun that the structure of the music industry has made it easier for upcoming/independent artists to thrive.

To support his point, he stated that in this day and age, if an upcoming artist produces a song and strives to acquire a million streams for that song, the act would earn a total of $7,500 on Apple Music.

However, you will earn $5,500 if a million streams are on Spotify. As a result, an independent musician with those kinds of streams is already generating money.
