Peruzzi unlocks versatility with great relatability on the sophomore album ‘Rum & Boogie’.

First of all, Peruzzi is one of the most talented artists in the Nigerian music industry, his pen game and vibe is topnotch, a very prolific songwriter at that.

The Nigerian singer and songwriter have released his second studio album “Rum & Boogie” even though it long overdue but still worth the wait.

The album features guest artists including afrobeat heavyweight Davido, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, Wande Coal, Fireboy DML, Phyno, and Don Jazzy.

However, the 20-track album is split into two parts “Rum which includes tracks like; Juba, Telepot, See Love, Somebody Baby, Murda, Gunshot, Girlie, God Forbid, Matrimony, Lagbaja, and the second part “Boogie” includes; Kalakuta, Baddest, Available, Feeling Good, Change Your Style, Call, Baba God, Southy Love, Colour, Isolova.

Rum & Boogie excels in versatility with great relatability, infusing multiple genres such as Dancehall, Afrobeat, Afropop, Hip-hop, Highlife and R&B with deep ballads expressing every melody.

Peruzzi infused variable sounds, ranging from the popularly Amapiano sound from south Africa to even Nigerian old Galala dancehall vibe with the Patoranking assisted track titled `Baba God`

Also, great conceptualize track arrangement, from the first part Rum to the second part Boogie,

Juba (Bow) serves as a good intro to the album, ascending great atmosphere with an expression of gratitude for what God has done for him and how the enemy would’ve taken advantage.

Telepot is also a great piece of art, a true definition of feel-good music at its finest with good lyrical depth and rhyming skill.

The three supporting singles were really great, Gunshot, Southy Love featuring Fireboy DML, and Somebody Baby featuring Davido, one of the most relatable tracks on the album with the high possibility of cracking the market have to be Somebody Baby.

Another great track is Baddest featuring Don Jazzy and Phyno, the Seproach produced track is a composition of high life genre, a very brilliant piece of art, definitely will receive massive acceptance in the eastern part of Nigeria.

Critical Observation; the album seems to be a bit longer, while some will exhibit laziness to carefully listen through the 20 tracks but nevertheless, the project has all takes to prosper, a typical filled with great tunes album, a majority would wake up to some tracks later even if it is not now but definitely.
