Ghanaian Dancehall singer, Stonebwoy, has got his people talking over his comment about why other African countries should applaud Nigerian artistes.
In a tweet he shared on the 15th of March, 2021, the singer noted that Nigerians have dominated the music industry on the global scene and urged other African nations to applaud the country.
His statement stemmed from the fact that Wizkid and Burna Boy bagged their first Grammy awards at the 63rd ceremony.
Stonebwoy further said that Nigerian artistes are constantly putting in efforts to make sure that they keep holding the mantle for Africa in the entertainment scene globally.
He however expressed disappointment over Ghana’s music industry.

He wrote:
“With all due respect, let all other African nations give it up for Nigeria. For their constant efforts in holding the mantle for Africa when it comes to entertainment on the global scene. Congrats for holding it down at the Grammys. As for Ghana, smh I’ll be back.”

Fellow Ghana Artist, Bisa Kdei seems to have understood and agreed with what the Bhimnation president wrote because he took to the comment section to explain further.
“It’s a general Ghanaian mentality. Anything from any Ghanaian act is regular, but any little thing from a foreigner is highly patronized. We work really hard but our own people won’t project us cos of personal reasons, very sad.
