Adekunle Gold shared with fans the inspiration and the release date for his upcoming project, “Afropop Vol 1”.
Adekunle Gold sent a general email to some of his hardcore fans and revealed the process that birthed “Afropop”.
In the message he sent out, he revealed that the project was birthed in 2017 but he wasn’t ready.
He said he and his colleague, Niyi had an idea of releasing an EPP of just 3-4 songs in 2017 which Niyi had named Afropop. But as time passed by, more songs were added.
He revealed that even before his second studio album, About 30 was released he had two albums ready and his fifth album is currently in works.
However, investors didn’t grasp the concept behind his songs, and this set in despair. But in 2019, he released Before you Wake up and it looked like people were finally understanding his new direction.
He also revealed that his forthcoming project, Afropop Vol 1 would be dropping on the 21st of August 2020.
