Veteran Nigerian singer Lanre Dabiri popularly known as Eldee has advised YBNL rookie Fireboy DML to adhere to the advice of Instagram influencer Oyemykke.
Eldee who thinks Oyemykke’s advise to Fireboy DML was great advice post used his music career to explain why he felt the YBNL’s next big thing needs to make his face as popular as his songs.
Posting on the comment section on Oyemykke’s Instagram post about Fireboy DML, Eldee wrote:
while I understand that some artists prefer anonymity, I recognize this as one of the biggest flaws of my early career. Everybody knew “trybesmen” but you couldn’t recognize us and it definitely hurt the brand. Remedies and plantation boiz had an edge over us because they were way more visible. I couldn’t agree more with this sentiment because a lot of potential is lost when the brand is unrecognizable, especially in this era of information overload. For one, you are not as valuable to brands as a potential partner for endorsements if nobody knows what you look like. This is great advice ????
Eldee who left the Nigerian music industry in 2012 has since then been into IT consultancy.
Giving his reason for quitting music, Eldee explained that he left music because he realized that the business side of music was no longer making sense in the country.
It will be recalled that Oyemykke earlier took to his Instagram page to say that Fireboy DML’s songs are more popular than his face.
