In this life and that which is to come, Olamide is and will remain one of the biggest guys on the streets, all thanks to his music that’s usually catchy and incorporated with local slangs and what the street know as ‘OT.’ Another guy that is close is Naira Marley.
While it would be crazy to start juxtaposing the both of them, with what’s currently banging on the streets, I think it’s safe to say Olamide and Naira Marley are the ones trending, right now. The past few weeks have seen releases from them. And they’ve even been on the same song together, twice. It doesn’t get better than that!
Recall that Naira Marley shot to prominence, back in 2018, when he released the mega-hit, “Issa Goal” which featured Baddo himself and Lil Kesh. It was a massive success, as the efforts of the three artists paid off. Most especially for the least popular among them, Naira Marley. Because shortly after, he was a big star and a rave on the streets.
Fast forward to 2019 and Marley is Zlatan Ibile’s best buddy, and they’re steadily collaborating. Zlatan, like Naira Marley, also just became a street sensation and they were riding the waves. It’s only normal that it happened anyway. Naira Marley went on to do other solo hits, like “Opotoyi” and “Soapy,” which even boosted his credibility more.
Olamide, on the other hand, is just catching his cruise. The veteran rapper and singer has seen it all and done it all. And in 2019, he wasn’t even sleeping as he even rolled outsold big hits like “Oil & Gas” and “Pawon.”
Then a couple of days ago, Olamide rolled out “Choko Milo”, which tells us that the King is ready for this season and ready to scatter the street with his bangers. Meanwhile, Naira Marley also is basking in the buzz he’s getting from “Bad Influence.”

Everywhere is bubbling though, and the songs are rolling in. But who would have thought “Olamide Naira Marley” will be the next trend? First, Reminisce (Alaga Ibile) put both of them on a track, “Instagram”, a track which is a regular street jam and if we forget the fact that the lyrics are raw and vulgar, it’s a vibe, too. It’s actually got a concept and Oja Daddy let Olamide take the hook.
Pheelz Mr. Producer then hit us with one big one, “Gobe” which featured Olamide and Naira Marley and this has to be one of the best collaborations Naira Marley has ever done. Baddo took the chorus, as he always does and Naira Marley does his thing. Mad jam, and it’s also got a contagious beat that will make anyone move body anytime.
December is here anyway, and it’s gonna be parte after parte, pretty damn soon. And there’s no way a song like “Gobe” will be missing from the scene, in a time like this. In fact, anything Olamide and Naira do, is a big hit already, not to talk of a collaboration between the two of them. They’re both Kings on the streets, and I guess y’all know what “2 Kings” mean!
