What a year. Right? This is what happens when everyone just decides to go on self-exile. It’s actually the prime reason people expect the last days of summer to be so much interesting. Well, that is already proving to be true.

And, it’s a good time to have the one and only Baddo, Olamide, back in the mix. Not like he actually left or something before, we just can’t get tired of him. Not possible, ever. His consistency and flooding tactic has been the thing that has kept him atop the game, for almost a decade now.
Let’s talk about this year? The street embraced Zlatan’s Zanku music movement quite well, and it really affected many guys who used to be hot on the streets. Because unless you’re Zlatan Ibile or Naira Marley, cracking the formula for a big street hit is like winning a lottery. Oh, unless I’d course you’re YBNL head honcho, Olamide. The man who’s always available with the pepper.
Due to buzz and all that, Zlatan may be the one kinging, right now. But look around fam, who has the highest number of hits this year? Check the books, and see if Olamide doesn’t come first. He’s on a streak, and he sure is winning.
He started off the year with “Woske”, the pop-inspired Zanku-themed hit, produced by Killertunes and then went off to “Buga Small Small”, a freestyle that quickly took off on the streets. Later on, he released “Spirit”, another banger. Then, “Oil and Gas” came along, such a big one, an instant hit, the fan-favorite, name it. In between, somewhere there is the hit with Wizkid, “Totori,” and a couple of other collaborations. Even if Olamide is a rookie, with his performance this year, anyone would know he’s not a one-hit-wonder.
At a time when the songs are raining down heavily, well, the king is back. The word on the streets is that Baddo still got the sauce and the juice. “Pawon,” says that in detail, it’s why everyone is checking it out already. The tweets, reposts, all that is for a reason, you’d think.

The song which has the same kind of contagious beat he’s been dealing with, for quite a while now, has the regular high-tempo and on the song, he delivers the catchy hook type of thing. The delivery is a bit playful, and the lyrics are loose, somehow. Overall, it’s mad.
With the look of things, and based on history, it’s most likely “Pawon” is just a tip of the iceberg to what’s coming next. Still, it does the magic. Keeps Olamide in the conversation long enough, till he bounces back with something bigger. Keeps it on the streets, too. Win-win, that’s what you call that.
