Gyakie shares how heartbreak inspired her new song
It’s widely acknowledged that artists often draw inspiration from their emotions and life experiences, and Gyakie is no exception. The Ghanaian artist recently revealed that her latest single, “December,” emerged from a deeply poignant heartbreak.
The talented songstress unveiled her newest track on April 5th, much to the joy of her fans. Opening up about the genesis of her inspiration, Gyakie shared that the song originated from a heartbreak she endured with someone she deeply cared for. During an interview, she expressed how the raw emotions she experienced while in Paris served as the catalyst for creating this heartfelt melody.
Appearing on TV3’s New Day program, Gyakie bared her soul, delving into the inspiration behind her latest chart-topper, “December.” She confessed that the song was born from the pain of heartbreak, and every lyric was a direct reflection of the emotions she felt during that difficult period.
“This song was supposed to drop December last year. It is fully broken heart. It’s actually one of the songs I wrote when I was in one of my sad moments, and I wrote it in Paris. Every word in the song is literally direct. A special someone disappointed me. When you sing and read the lyrics of the song you will understand it.” Gyakie revealed.
The songstress revealed that “December” was originally scheduled for release in December 2023. However, she made the decision to postpone its release to ensure that her breakout hit, “Rent Free,” had the opportunity to resonate fully with Ghanaian audiences.
This strategic move demonstrates Gyakie’s thoughtful approach to her music career, prioritizing the optimal timing for each release to maximize its impact and connection with her audience.
