Davido joins Fireboy DML as the only Afrobeats artist to do this at the BET Awards.
Nigerian Afrobeat superstar David Adedeji Adeleke OON, who is professionally known as Davido, has joined YBNL star Fireboy DML as the only Afrobeats artist to be handed a special role at the BET Awards.
Davido has announced via his social media account that he will be participating in the 2023 BET Awards which happen on Sunday, June 25, 2023, in the US.
The well-known singer showed his excitement and stated that he would be one of the performers at the occasion.
This news holds a lot of weight because the BET Awards is a prominent ceremony dedicated to honouring black excellence in numerous sectors such as music, movies, sports, and more.
The DMW boss joins the ranks of acclaimed performers who have graced the stage in past years by securing a performance slot at the BET Awards.
This opportunity showcases his talent and global afrobeats recognition. At this prestigious gathering of black musicians and entertainers, he was among the select few representing the booming afrobeats genre.
Davido did not alone showcase the rich sounds of afrobeats at the BET Awards 2023. He will, however not be the first Afgrobeats artist to perform on the award stage as Fireboy DML, who is under the YBNL record label umbrella, became the first to hit the stage a feat he accomplished in 2022.
