Erik ten Hag discusses how Manchester United has developed this season.
Erik ten Hag praised his team’s perseverance following their FA Cup comeback victory over Fulham.
As a result of Fulham’s utter surrender, which included Aleksandar Mitrovic, Willian, and manager Marco Silva receiving red cards, Man Utd were able to capitalize on their first-half deficit at Old Trafford and go on to win 3-1.
With the victory, the Red Devils have secured a spot at Wembley Stadium for the second time this season. On their first visit, Man Utd defeated Newcastle United 2-0 to win the Carabao Cup.
Speaking to ITV after the game, Ten Hag was keen to explain how his side have improved throughout the 2022/23 campaign despite playing more games than any other Premier League team:

“We once again showed big character. We’ve played the most games from any Premier League team, from all the teams in Europe, and we are physically fit and we are mentally fit.
“When we concede a goal we fight back, so I’m happy with this progress. We have [resilience] in the team, the team has leaders, we set high standards and we follow these standards.”
When asked about the referee’s decision to send Willian off and give Man Utd a penalty for a hand ball on the goal line, Ten Hag said: “It was a clear and obvious hand ball. I go back to last week at Southampton where we saw the same: a hand ball in the box is a clear penalty.”
