REVEALED: The personal message Cristiano Ronaldo sent Sadio Mane after his transfer to Bayern Munich from Liverpool.
Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane has disclosed how Cristiano Ronaldo congratulated him on his move to the Bundesliga giants from Liverpool.
Mane left Liverpool after six years to join Bayern last summer in a deal of €41 million (£35 million/$43 million). After completing his move to Germany, the Senegal international claims to have seen former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who assured him he had chosen a wise career choice.
“I met Cristiano Ronaldo in Mallorca before this season after my move was completed. He congratulated me and told me: ‘A great club. This is a great step for you,'” he told SportBild. “That says everything about the Bundesliga and underlines what I’ve already said: I think you underestimate the Bundesliga here. The recent performances in the Champions League prove that.”

Mane made a fantastic start to his tenure at Bayern Munich, scoring six goals and dishing out three assists before suffering a major leg injury in November that required surgery and prevented him from competing in the 2022 World Cup. The Senegal international recently came off the bench in Bayern’s 3-0 victory against Union Berlin to make his long-awaited recovery from injury.
Bayern are the first team from Europe’s big-five leagues to score 100 competitive goals this season.
When Al-Nassr plays Al-Batin on Friday, Ronaldo will be back in action, and Mane will be hoping to play again when Bayern plays Stuttgart on Saturday.
