Wizkid expresses shock at “Essence” recent achievements
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, has expressed his shock at the recent achievements of his hit song, “Essence” and admitted that he did not anticipate the popular song will reach double platinum status in the United States.
The creator of Starboy claimed to have known the song with Tems was magically successful, but he expressed shock when it received two platinum certifications.
Wizkid made the comment in an interview as he recalled how, at the debut of Essence, he tweeted that the song was magical but that it was absurd that it had received two platinum certifications in the US.
Furthermore, he expressed happiness that the song was written and produced in Lagos and is having such success in the United States.
Watch him speak below:
"I knew Essence was magic but to be honest, I didn't expect it to be double platinum? Big Shoutout to Tems"
