Manchester United set to fine Cristiano Ronaldo £1m for the bombshell Piers Morgan interview.
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to receive a fine of at least £1million for choosing to give Piers Morgan a bombshell interview in which he criticized Erik ten Hag, Manchester United’s board, and the club’s standards.
The 37-year-old went nuclear during an interview with Morgan, just hours after United’s morale-boosting 2-1 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Ronaldo missed the victory through illness and has also been absent from the Carabao Cup win against Aston Villa on Thursday.
The Portuguese captain desperately wanted to leave the team last summer, but he was unable to do so, and so far this season, he has been forced to take second place to players like Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

Ronaldo was fined two weeks’ wages in October when he refused to come on as a substitute against Tottenham, with the striker deciding to walk down the tunnel before the match had finished.
And United are expected to do the same this time around, with Ronaldo facing another fine of about £1m.
The club have refused to comment on Ronaldo’s interview but it will be viewed dimly, mainly as Ten Hag spoke about the ‘togetherness’ at the club following the win against Fulham.
Ronaldo has likely played his last game for the club and he could be released before the January transfer window.
