Conte receives double ban from UEFA after outburst as Tottenham coach suffers Champions League red card punishment.
Antonio Conte will face two punishments at Tottenham as a result of his last-second dismissal in the draw with Sporting CP during their Champions League game.
Harry Kane’s 95th-minute winner was ruled off for offside by the referee after what felt like an eternity of VAR review, which infuriated Tottenham players, staff, and fans. Conte led the protests from his technical area, but the referees deemed his actions unacceptable and Conte was given a red card.
Tottenham would have been guaranteed a spot in the Champions League round of 16 had Kane’s goal been allowed. They needed a win in the last group-stage match at Marseille next week because a draw wasn’t enough to advance them.

They will have to secure that result without their manager as his red card means he will be banned from the dressing room and from the touchline at the Stade Velodrome.
He may find himself in more trouble as a result of his post-game remarks, in which he questioned if such a decision would be taken against a “big team.” UEFA may decide to look into what he said.
The Spurs manager will be permitted to do his duties in the Premier League this weekend because his suspension only pertains to the Champions League.
On Saturday, he travels with his team to Bournemouth in an effort to break the string of losses they have had recently.
